Meanwhile, back in the Land of Normal

Haha! Gotcha!  There’s no such THING as the “Land of Normal”!  (Unless you’re a clothes dryer.)

Seriously, I thought I might give you a little update, considering I’ve been nearly completely silent the past few months.

The main thing that has kept me busy has been work, more than anything else, and that’s something that I’m deeply grateful for.  Since we released the first Alice: Madness Returns trailer back in June, it’s been a non-stop barrage of articles to post, announcements to make, campaigns to promote, and tons more.  The culminative moment is coming next week when I finally make the trip to Shanghai in China to collect the majority of the work.

There are many things about this that I cannot discuss, and it KILLS me.  But it’s for a good cause, so no biggie.

On the home front, I’m a masochist.  There are now nine people in this two-bedroom duplex, and I’m searching for a larger place, ASAP.  It sounds insane, but it’s actually working okay for us because everyone pitches in.  It’s me and the four kids, Momma Lynne, Jay, Kira and Michael.  Yes, THAT Michael.  Don’t ask, it’s a long story.  No, it’s not romantic.

I love the way we’re allegedly “pulling out of this recession” nearly constantly (according to the news), but in actuality, we seem to be getting closer to a full depression-like economic state.  And when in crisis, people come together to help out.  That’s just the way it has to work.

We did have one more person, but unfortunately, she’s had to take an enforced sabbatical.  It’s another long story, and one that does not need to be posted on the internet.

The key word is “compliance”.  When you know you have to do certain things to be healthy and stable, you sure as HELL don’t screw up your regimen around a bunch of children.  That’s just… I don’t even know the word for it.

At least, not words that I should use in public.

Besides that, Daniel is doing much better.  He and I went to Cheyenne a couple of weeks ago to see Dr. Dan, and everything is moving right along.  The natural method is definitely paying off – he’s learning, growing, and while the seizures aren’t completely gone, they’re not the super-severe massive episodes they were before.  Anymore, they’re just little breakthroughs that may be more a result of the tumor itself reducing and the material in it moving through his system.

I’m sure there are many more things I could talk about right now, but after the last 24 hours (which included the washing machine being declared dead, having to do EVERYONE’S laundry at the laundromat all at once, and dealing with a special kind of eek from about 4pm until 11pm), I think I mostly just need a nap.

And then to start packing.  So that I don’t forget anything.

Which, you know I will.
