Bob drove us back through the back roads. Thank the gods for OTR truck driver sensibilities! We didn’t go faster than about 35 mph in that last stretch, but we got home safely to Bob and Shelly’s at around 2:30 in the morning.
The kids are still at Amber’s and Kimmie’s, Cheyenne is covered in snow, and I’m still not sure what I’m going to do about all of this.
One thing is clear: I know an opportunity when I see one. Michael will be sent home on a bus, and then, I’m getting my house done and my life simplified. I know exactly how close I came to dieing, and I’m not going to waste the lesson. It’s time to get my life back to the way it’s supposed to be.
